Maria brings to Riley many years experience as a naturalist, agricultural and environmental educator, and farm crew manager. In addition to her role at Riley, Maria is Field Crew Lead at Dooryard Farm, an organic, low-till vegetable and flower farm. She spent 6 years at North Haven Conservation Partners developing and leading environmental education programming for children in grades K-12, as well as community education programming.

Maria is also skilled at foraging, orienteering, phenology, plant identification, and much more. She holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota in Biology and Psychology and was a fellow at the Island Institute, which centered around K-12 greenhouse and garden curriculum. She is excited to bring meaningful and engaging experiences to Riley children.
