Cassidy is a dedicated early childhood educator with a strong foundation in child development, health and safety practices, and inclusive learning environments. She holds a degree in Liberal studies with a focus on Elementary Education and a Teaching Assistant 1 certificate from The University of Maine Augusta. She is certified through Maine Roads to Quality, experienced in applying developmentally-appropriate practices, and creating supportive, diverse, engaging environments for children from infancy through the early elementary years.
Cassidy enjoys developing individualized, nature-based routines that foster curiosity, resilience, and emotional growth in the children for whom she cared as a private nanny prior to joining the Riley School faculty. Cassidy also worked for 6 years at Coastal Childcare Center, where she delivered a full-day curriculum for 3- to 5-year-olds promoting kindergarten readiness, integrated play-based learning aligned with Maine’s Early Childhood Learning Guidelines, and partnered with staff and families to support an inclusive, trauma-informed environment. Cassidy also led daily classroom care and education for toddlers 18 months to 3-years-old with an emphasis in language development, sensory exploration, and guided peer interaction. She also conducted observations and developmental check-ins using best practices for early childhood learning.
