Gabi is thrilled to join the Riley team and brings to Riley her diverse range of experiences from 12 years of working with children. She began her career in Early Childhood Education working as a teacher in preschool and daycare classrooms. She quickly discovered her innate ability to support children who struggled to thrive in traditional educational settings. This realization led her to pursue further training and education to become a Registered Behavior Technician. Once she obtained this credential, she worked in multidisciplinary clinics providing one-to-one behavioral therapy for children diagnosed with Autism. Most recently, Gabi worked for Seacoast Keystone Therapy in Newmarket, NH. She wore many hats in her three years at Keystone, including a promotion to Lead RBT. She oversaw training of new staff and worked closely with a team of providers to design client programming. Gabi is grateful to have been mentored by such skilled Behavior Analysts and Occupational Therapists during her time at Keystone. Gabi is also certified by SafetyCare as a De-escalation and Crisis Prevention trainer. She provided training for the staff at Keystone and has extensive experience implementing these skills herself to manage difficult behaviors in both clinical and classroom settings. She is a firm believer that all behavior is communication and approaches challenges with curiosity. Gabi understands the importance of building an authentic and unique relationship with each child in her care. She enjoys making learning an empowering and engaging experience. She is passionate about creating magic in little moments for her students and inspiring their curiosity to explore themselves and the world around them.
A native of Southern Maine, Gabi recently relocated to the Midcoast with her partner, who is pursuing a career in boatbuilding as a student at the Apprenticeshop. Gabi is excited to now call Rockland home and continue to discover all it has to offer. In her spare time, Gabi loves anything that allows her to nurture creativity. She finds peace in the process of making, whether it be cooking, crafting, or gardening. If she is not in the midst of a random project, she will likely be kayaking, hiking, or in a hammock with a good book. Gabi looks forward to collaborating with the families and educators within the Riley community and continuing to learn and grow as an educator.
