Victoria “Tori” Marsh holds a BFA from Maine College of Art and a MAT from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She found the midcoast area on her way to an artist residency in Canada, immediately fell in love and knew it was where she needed to be as an artist and as a mother.

Tori believes art offers pure, uncontainable, exploration. To quote Helen Frankenthaler,

“There are no rules. That is how are is born, how breakthroughs happen. Go against the rules or ignore the rules. That is what invention is about”.

This is how Tori approaches working in her own artistic practice and how she plans to foster children’s art making. Her hope for facilitating art with the Wade children is to simply give them time and space to explore all kinds of materials and techniques while seeing the magic they create.

Tori is an embroidery artist, avid gardener and mother of fellow Riley student, Otto. She hopes her love and enthusiasm for art, nature and exploration will help guide children at Riley for years to come.
