Elisa came to the Riley School with a background in education, and a keen interest in the administrative arts. She studied psychology and education at Hollins College, VA, where she found inspiration in a community taking action with an open heart. After working on community issues with non-profit organizations in NYC & CT, Elisa attended Antioch Graduate School, NH to study environmental science and education. To balance the academic focus, she discovered solace working as a laborer on an organic vegetable farm. These experiences led her to Maine the fall of 1993, and the sustainable housebuilding school at Shelter Institute in Bath. Since then she has also spent time with Outward Bound in Rockland, the Mary Day in Camden, and Spindlewood in Lincolnville. Other interests include Restorative Justice Project in Belfast, Camden International Film Festival, and biking year-round with her husband and daughter in Lincolnville.
