Deborah brings with her many years of varied classroom experience where her skills in meeting individual children’s needs has been highlighted.
Her love of music feeds her passion to help instill the love of music in her students, and give them an outlet for expression and a chance to work on another aspect of their learning. She works to integrate music study and supports students to making connections with their studies in history, science, math and language arts. She has taught music for grades K-12, introductory theater, and has provided private voice lessons.
Deborah earned her BA in Rehabilitative Counseling with from UMaine Farmington and her Masters in Music from UMaine Orono. She has taught music for grades K-12, introductory theater, and has provided private voice lessons. In addition, Deborah has participated in numerous musical theater productions, as actor, stage manager, director for school performances. She has performed with many groups including the Bangor Symphony and Community Chorus and toured with small section of Oratorio Society of UMaine-Orono to Austria and Czech Republic, She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Maine Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Educators, and the Maine Educators Association.
Deborah has finally achieved a lifetime goal of living on the coast, where she resides with her husband Dave, two birds, cat Bugsy, and wonder dog Miko.
