Parent Conferences: We will not be scheduling days off for Parent Conferences. Instead, we would like parents to schedule their own conferences any day after school, Monday Thursday during the months of October, November, January, February, March and April. The faculty will also contact parents when and if they need a conference.

About Curriculum
Riley's curriculum is designed to encompass the intellectual, creative, emotional, and physical needs of each child. The learning environment and the arrangement of the curriculum stimulates the imagination and the feelings of each child in such a way that learning emerges from the experiences involving the child's total development. Since each child is unique, individual potential and individual needs are met according to the level of intellectual, psychological, and social development.

About Riley
The first independent elementary school in Mid-Coast Maine. Founded in 1972 by Glenna W. Plaisted, Director. Ages 4-14 (Pre-K through 9th). Ungraded. Year Round Admission. Financial Assistance. Approximate enrollment 90 children from 18 towns and 3 counties. Child-Teacher ratio: 8 to 1. Accredited by both the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Maine State Department of Education. Member of the Independent Schools Association of Northern New England. Riley's campus consists of 25 acres of peaceful and beautiful open fields, woods, and shore frontage. There are seven buildings: Farmhouse (offices), large Victorian Barn (on the National Historical Register) Lower School and Science Building, spacious Library, Creative Arts Building, Pottery Studio, and Children's Theater.
